I’m about to add this category to my list of posts. The stories I share in this group will be a bit more personal; stories of moments in my life as I’ve aged and grown in the Lord. Of course, I’m still learning and growing and thanking God for loving me so gently and teaching me so patiently.
I believe our Heavenly Father loves each of us individually, teaches us as we seek His will, and guides us in our walk with Him.
Looking back, I can see that I had a lot to learn. I giggle at the young woman I was and thank God for holding onto me, loving me as I shared insecurities, hopes, and a heart that really did want to please Him. Even when I failed in my feeble efforts, He was there to gently lift me in His arms and reassure me of His loving guidance as I continued on my way.
Now, I can see even more clearly that I have much to learn. The fact that my Father is present in my life and willing to teach me is a blessing beyond what my words can express.
I’ve talked with the Lord about sharing stories of my younger life, knowing that the prayers were simple and the knowledge limited. The truth is, though, that every time I learned something new, it added another step along the path God has created for me. Today is not so different from my younger days; my prayers are still simple and my Father is still faithful to teach me as I follow Him.
My heart’s desire is to please God, to love Him, and to share His love with others. I pray that these stories will bring honor to God, and glimpses of some of the ways He shares His love with each of us as we walk with Him on our guided path.
Matthew 22:37-40 (NIV) Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
